A gang of burglars has been jailed for breaking into the Northumberland home of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to ITV. The break-in occurred while the player was at home, just days before a crucial Premier League match.
The intruders forced their way through a patio door and took various valuable items including jewellery, luxury clothing, and an Audi sports car, which was later discovered abandoned near Dissington. Police investigation identified and arrested gang members, some of whom had been involved in a series of other burglaries targeting luxury homes in the region.
The court highlighted the premeditation of the crime and the psychological impact on the player’s family, who were present during the break-in. The defendants were convicted of aggravated burglary and vehicle theft.
