A gang of thieves executed a sophisticated burglary at a Bulgari jewellery store in London by drilling through the floor from the sewer system below, according to Thesun. The incident, reported on 11 June 2024, resulted in the theft of approximately £400,000 in jewellery.
Police are investigating the brazen theft, which was compared to a scene from a Hollywood heist film. A single crowbar was recovered at the crime scene as investigators work to identify the perpetrators and trace the stolen goods.
For jewellery retailers and high-value businesses, robust security measures—including inspections of underground access points and strengthened floor reinforcement—are essential to prevent similar incidents.
