An attempted theft of an ATM at a forecourt in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, resulted in damage to the machine, according to an article published on 7 April 2026. Belfastlive reports that the ATM sustained damage during the incident at the petrol station forecourt.
Businesses operating fuel stations and retail forecourts should maintain regular security checks on ATM equipment and consider installing additional deterrents such as CCTV coverage and motion-activated lighting.
