Lee Muir gained entry to a pensioner’s home in Preston by posing as a roofer, then rifled through the property and stole cash, according to Lancashirepost’s report of court proceedings published on 5 June 2025. The burglar exploited a common tactic of impersonating a tradesperson to access residential properties and commit theft.
Homeowners are advised to verify the identity of any tradespeople before allowing them entry, and to check credentials with the company directly if in doubt.
