A Co-op supermarket in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, was cordoned off by police after a suspected ram-raid targeting the cash machine, according to reports published on 9 January 2026. The store was sealed off following the incident as officers investigated the attack on the automated teller machine.
Businesses should ensure cash machines are positioned away from vehicle access points, reinforce entrances with bollards or barriers where feasible, and install CCTV with adequate lighting to deter and record such incidents.
