Police in Preston have arrested five people following a copper theft from commercial premises, according to reports published on 28 January 2026. The theft, which targeted a business in the Lancashire town, resulted in losses valued at £8,500.
According to Blogpreston and the Lancashire Post, officers conducted a police raid at a specific address as part of their investigation into the incident. The raid was carried out in an effort to recover the stolen metal and dismantle the network responsible for the burglary.
All five suspects were taken into custody as part of the investigation. Businesses should ensure that valuable materials like copper are stored securely and that premises are monitored with effective CCTV and alarm systems to deter theft.
