A farm theft in Armagh escalated into a serious incident when the getaway vehicle collided with a school bus, according to an article published on 29 April 2026 on Agriland.
The incident highlights the risks farm thefts pose not only to agricultural operations but to public safety when perpetrators flee the scene. Farms are vulnerable targets due to their rural locations, valuable equipment, and often limited security infrastructure. Installing visible security cameras, reinforcing gates and fencing, maintaining good lighting, and coordinating with local agricultural crime prevention programmes can significantly reduce the risk of theft and improve response times if a crime occurs.
