Five men have been convicted and sentenced to prison for their involvement in a £50,000 burglary at a biogas plant in Northwich, according to reports published on 22 April 2026. The group had specifically travelled from Luton to carry out the burglary at the Northwich facility, with investigations eventually leading to charges and convictions for all five suspects.
This case highlights the organised nature of some commercial burglaries, where offenders travel significant distances to target specific industrial sites. Businesses in the energy and manufacturing sectors should ensure robust security measures are in place, including CCTV, alarm systems, and regular perimeter checks to deter and detect criminal activity.
