A jewellery store in Cross Gates, Leeds, was targeted in a daylight burglary according to reports published on 22 April 2026. Masked men forced entry using a smash-and-grab technique, breaking glass to access the premises. The thieves made off with a quantity of watches from the store. After committing the robbery, the perpetrators fled the scene in a blue Renault Clio. Local authorities opened an investigation to identify the suspects responsible for the theft. Yorkshireeveningpost reports that the burglary was carried out in broad daylight, and no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
Jewellery retailers should consider installing robust window and door security measures, alarm systems monitored by professionals, and increased surveillance to deter and document such crimes.
