Four shops around Chorley were targeted in a spree of knifepoint robberies, according to an article published on 16 November 2025 by Blogpreston. The incidents were part of a wider series affecting both Preston and Chorley, with two young men subsequently charged in connection with the offences.
Knifepoint robberies represent a serious threat to retail staff and business owners. Shops should ensure that staff are trained in conflict de-escalation and safe cash-handling procedures, and consider implementing security measures such as CCTV, alarm systems, and limited till access to reduce the risk of becoming a target.
