According to Nationcymru, a Leicestershire man has been sentenced for the theft of a candelabra from Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil, Mid Glamorgan, in an article published on 16 July 2025.

The castle, a historic site and museum, fell victim to the theft of the valuable artifact. The case proceeded through the courts, resulting in the sentencing of the offender from Leicestershire.

Museums and historic sites should maintain robust security measures, including regular inventory checks and restricted access to high-value collections, to prevent theft and protect irreplaceable cultural artifacts.
