A van was driven into Whittles jewellers in Preston city centre in a brazen daytime ram-raid, according to coverage by Lancashirepost and Lancslive. The incident, reported in an article published on 2 October 2024, caused significant damage to the premises. Lancashire Police subsequently charged a 38-year-old in connection with the incident.
Ram-raids on jewellery retailers remain a serious threat. Businesses should consider installing robust protective measures, including reinforced bollards, security grilles, and alarm systems, to deter and mitigate the impact of such attacks.
