According to an article published on 2 September 2024, a man has been jailed for breaking into a home in Southend, Essex, and attacking a resident with a baton. Echonews reports that the intruder entered a nurse’s bedroom during the incident. The violent nature of the attack, which resulted in the resident being struck with a baton, led to criminal charges and a custodial sentence.
