A vulnerable man in Lisburn was the victim of a violent burglary and assault, according to reports published in May 2026. Two masked intruders entered his home and attacked him while he slept, causing injuries that were reportedly consistent with a hammer attack.
Three people have been charged in connection with the incident. Polish national Kamil Czerwonobroda was accused of the ferocious attack. A Lisburn couple, Charlene Cairns and James McMahon, also face charges related to the burglary and assault. Belfasttelegraph reports that all three suspects appeared in court, where their requests for bail were denied, and they are now awaiting trial.
